Computing

Public Computers

The College of New Jersey Library offers access to approximately 100 public computers. These computers allow you to connect to the library catalog, the Internet, Application Explorer and other networked resources. Always feel free to download any information to a disk or to your network drive when you log onto the network with your account.

Most of the computers offer access to Microsoft Office as well as the research tools available throughout the library.

At any time that a member of the college community is waiting to use a computer in order to conduct research and you are using a computer for personal email, or activities that are not research related, you will be asked to allow the other user to have access.

Wireless Access

The College of New Jersey Library offers wireless access in most areas of the building and even outside in the Alumni Grove. You will need a TCNJ account to login into the Wireless @ TCNJ service. You will also need to add the TCNJ 128-bit WEP key to your wireless networking software before you login. View Getting Started Instructions

Wired Data Jacks for Laptops

For your convenience there are now active data jacks in the library for users with RES.net configured laptops to access the campus network and the Internet. In order to utilize the data jacks you must be a member of the TCNJ community and have a RES.net configured laptop. Please note: You must provide your own network and power cables and there is no printing from laptops in the library.

For an application and more information on RES.net please go to the RES.net page or contact the Information Technology Help Desk at 609-771-2660 or helpdesk@tcnj.edu.
